How could we possibly work on expansion when the United States is still mostly in pandemic lockdown?
Through expansion of the mind, ideas, and emotions.
Let's develop an alter ego, yeah?
Welcome to the Astrology House 9 Workshop.
Last month in the House 8 Workshop we discussed TRANSFORMATION
Once you have looked into your Shadows and have risen through them, you are ready for the next astrological procession of exploration.
You have freed yourself from your own proverbial chains and are ready to soar through all the world has to offer you.
(If you are looking for more information on Astrology Houses, you can read more in this blog post to discover how they relate to you)
House Nine
Fire-- This House is full of emotions, strong waters compelling you to go with the flow of change, or prepare to be washed away!
Planet-- Jupiter
Macro World-- This house is begging you to explore the world around you; drink in new ideas, places, people. Expand what you know and feel through all that is offered around you.
Others-- This house again, wants you to look outside of yourself to discover new possibilities. Through others we are inspired.
Characteristics-- Expansion, Ethics, Education, Learning, Travel, Visions, Positivity, Philosophy, Curious
House Nine is asking "Are you aware and open to the Awe around you?"
THE WORKSHOP
This month we are going to test the outer limits of exploration
It can be kind of uncomfortable to do things outside of your comfort zone, right?
What if I told you that just on the other side of your comfort, was magic, freedom, and joy?
This workshop has two parts:
Exploring your inner limitations, taking steps to open up
Creating an Alter Ego
Before we start...
I really want to highlight Judgement and Acceptance for this workshop because all discovery and expansion come from the decimation of judgement.
Can you dig it?
We cannot grow and learn and experience freedoms and passions while we are chained to certain ideas or ways of living and thinking.
House 9 is all about fluidity and living in the Grey.
If you struggle with Black and White Thinking or judgements of other peoples or ideas, I encourage you to keep an open heart.
Listen to this new meditation for inspiration
**Tangent Alert**
We all have things that are "non-negotiables": boundaries. As we should! These things keep us safe. But I want to be clear that exploring novelty doesn't mean changing who you are, it simply is an acknowledgment of the beauty and curiosities in the world around us, in the people who present as 'different' to us.
Just because you learn and explore something doesn't mean you pass judgement as it being "right" or "wrong". Those are judgement words. Things just ARE the way they ARE. That's acceptance.
Which is kind of a radical thing in America is feels, as of late.
I am for sure on a tangent right now, but I feel I needed to lay out these terms because,
-For one, I am a Sagittarius and I live in the constant discovery and fascination with people, places, things, and ideas. So it's close to my heart.
-Two, judgement kills curiosity, and curiosity is a cure for hate.
-Three, acceptance of all things as they are, and realizing you CANNOT change someone or something is paramount to curbing the anxiety many of us face
-Four, life is more fun when look at things through curiosity and excitement.
Ok I swear my rant is over. Thanks for sticking around.
So my challenge to you for the next week, or few weeks if you dare, is to:
REMAIN CURIOUS
Let's practice together.
EXPLORATION WORKSHEET
With each of these questions, think, discover personal discrepancies, discover your curiosity and where you have opportunity to add more in your life...
What was the last thing you learned about?
When was the last time you were wrong about something?
How did you react to being wrong?
What was the last thing you changed you mind about?
Was it a big belief to change?
What made it change?
What was the last non-fiction book you read?
What was the last fiction book you read?
When was the last time you exchanged words with a stranger?
What did you talk about?
When was the last time you felt love?
Did it scare you?
Did it envelope you?
Where was the last new place you traveled?
What did you find there?
When was the last time you felt angry?
How did it resolve?
What were you angry about?
When was the last time you had to forgive someone?
Are you over it?
If you were going to take a college class in 2021, what would it be?
When was the last time you had a conversation with someone you disagreed with?
Was it civil?
Were you able to maintain curiosity?
Would you rather be Right? Or Happy?
*How did you answer the questions above? Did you discover any areas in which it would benefit you to be more open, more curious, more exploratory?
For myself, I have discovered that I do not read enough fiction books, and I do not explore on my own enough. That is what I am determined to work on.
List three areas of your life you would like to bring more expansion to:

Now List three actionable steps you will take in the next two weeks to do so:
_____________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________
Here is my example:
An area of my life I would like to expand is:
-Reading more Fiction
-Exploring more on my own
Actionable steps:
-Read a novel for 30 minutes daily for two weeks
-Take a solo walk 3 times week for two weeks
Scandalous Summer.
I think it was important to explore our inner realms before this next step, because we have to be working with some level of personal freedom and openness to truly embody the Ninth House.
For the next few days or few weeks I want you to create a new persona. This new persona is:
Daring
Naughty
Free
Indulgent
Intelligent
Unabashed
Joyful
Embody this version of yourself.
Give it a name.
Mine is Summer. And Summer gets herself into all sorts of ridiculous and wild things.
Summer does what ever she damn well pleases.
She has fun being bold with strangers,
Sometimes drinking too much and not being embarrassed.
She dances by herself and walks with her head high into new frontiers.
Ok you get the picture.
I seriously hope you do this! It's so fun, and we all need a little more fun and freedom in our lives.
