Reclaim Your Body: The Power of Somatic Embodiment for Women

The wild woman within you has been waiting. She whispers in your quiet moments, urging you to return—not to some distant place, but to your body. Our modern world often pulls us out of ourselves, demanding productivity, compliance, and perfection, leaving little space for the primal, intuitive energy that thrives in our lower chakras. Yet, it is precisely in these spaces of the body—the root, the sacral, the solar plexus—where your deepest wisdom, sensuality, and creativity reside.

This is where somatic embodiment becomes essential. It’s not just a buzzword; it’s a reclamation. A way of sinking back into your skin, releasing tension, and opening to the pleasure and power that comes when you fully inhabit yourself. Let’s explore why embodiment matters, how it can elevate your sexual energy and relaxation, and how you can re-wild your body and spirit.

Why Embodiment Matters

In a society that glorifies being in the mind, we forget the body’s role in guiding us through life. But the body holds truths that the mind cannot access. It remembers traumas, carries desires, and houses instincts that are vital to your well-being. When you live disconnected from your body, you’re living only part of your truth.

Embodiment brings you back to your whole self. It grounds you in the present moment, enabling you to listen to your instincts and feel emotions fully. For women, especially, this practice reconnects you with your lower chakras—the root of your sensuality, creativity, and intuition. When you’re embodied, you’re not just alive; you’re vibrant.

Embodiment and Sexual Energy

Let’s talk about the taboo: sexual energy. This isn’t just about what happens in the bedroom. Your sexual energy is life force energy—the current that fuels creation, connection, and passion in all areas of life. When you’re disconnected from your body, your sexual energy becomes stifled, leaving you feeling depleted, uninspired, or unfulfilled.

By returning to your body, you can:

  • Awaken Desire: When you’re in your body, you’re more attuned to what feels good—both physically and emotionally. This creates space for authentic desire to bloom. When you vibrate with this energy, it can be felt all around you. Desire is a leading force of creation and enjoyment. Let the world be lit up by YOU again. Just like a child's joy lights up the room and people around them.

  • Enhance Pleasure: Relaxation and embodiment go hand in hand. The more you relax into your body, the more pleasure you can feel, whether that’s in a sensual touch or the way sunlight warms your skin. Imagine pleasure being a part of your everyday, yes please!

  • Boost Confidence: Embodiment teaches you to love and trust your body. When you walk through life feeling connected to your physical self, your confidence radiates. How ever you feel about your body or looks right now, I promise you the answer is coming back home to you. You'll notice looks change, body changes, glow increases, and the veil of insecurity is lifted.

  • Come Alive: many of us look in the mirror and think: Uh where did I go? The answer is, you never left, we just have to turn on the light again. By turning on your body. And yeah that sounds sexual, and it can be! But it's also fundamental to you enjoying life in a multitude of ways

The Art of Relaxation and Enjoyment

Modern life keeps us in a constant state of fight-or-flight. But embodiment invites us to shift into rest-and-receive. When you relax into your body, you’re giving yourself permission to enjoy life fully—to savor the little moments, to play, to rest without guilt.

This relaxation isn’t just for your mental health. It’s a gateway to unlocking your creative and sexual energies. Think of your lower chakras as a garden: when you relax, you’re watering the soil, allowing your wild, untamed blooms to flourish.

Tips to Re-Wild the Woman Within

So how do you begin this journey back to your body? Here are some practices to awaken and re-wild your feminine energy:

1. Slow Hip Circle

Your hips are a portal to your primal power. So much creativity and sexual power here! As well as youthfullness. I mean seriously, think of watching dancers, you can often feel their creative and sensual power evoking the same in you. Find a quiet space, put on some music that stirs your soul, and begin moving your hips in slow, circular motions. Don’t overthink it—just feel the movement. This simple practice can awaken your sacral chakra and root chakra, releasing tension and reconnecting you with your sensuality. You'll find realignment and joy very quickly.

2. Follow the Snake

This playful yet profound exercise helps you tune into your body’s sensations. Start by asking yourself, “Where is the strongest sensation in my body right now?” Maybe it’s a tingling in your fingertips or a warmth in your chest. Follow that sensation, letting it guide your awareness like a snake weaving through your body. This practice deepens your relationship with your body’s inner landscape, revealing its hidden wisdom. You may at first notice tensions, pains, that's part of the process! Let you body guide you to what it's been trying to show you. Often your awareness and attention is enough to dissolve bloackages over time and increase sensation and intuition.

3. Biofield Tuning

Biofield tuning uses sound frequencies to clear and balance your energy field. When I used frequency on clients, I can immediately hear and feel in the field, where there are long-held blockages. It’s a powerful way to release stuck energy and return to a state of flow. As you relax into the process, you may feel lighter, freer, and more connected to your body. You can use tuning forks at home too, learning to listen and feel with a tuning fork is an incredible embodiment practice. If you’re curious about exploring this transformative practice, consider booking a session or learning more about it through classes designed to enhance your energy awareness.

4. Breathwork for the Lower Chakras

Sit comfortably and place your hands on your lower belly. Take deep, slow breaths, imagining your breath filling your root and sacral chakras. As you exhale, visualize releasing any tension or blocks. This practice grounds you and strengthens your connection to your body’s creative and sexual energy.

I like to place my awareness inside my pelvic floor, womb, and pussy (Triggered? Don't be! It's a Lovely Reclamation; thank you Mama Gena). By doing this I am sending fresh awareness, blood, intention, and healing to an area that has encountered a lot of Shame and Resistance in the past.

You may notice more sensation and tingling after just a few breaths. Hello reawakening!

5. Dance Freely

Put on a song that ignites your soul and let your body move however it wants. Forget choreography. Forget how you look. This is about feeling your body’s natural rhythms and letting them guide you. Michael Boehm mentions "non-linear movement" in her book The Wild Woman's Way. its about letting the body move itself to release the tension patterns only it knows how to do: intuitively.

Reclaiming Your Wild Feminine

Embodiment isn’t a destination; it’s a practice. It’s a commitment to showing up for yourself daily, listening to your body, and honoring its needs. The more you do this, the more you’ll find yourself reconnecting with your wild, intuitive, and creative essence.

So, dear wild woman, are you ready to come home to your body? To sink into the softness of your hips, the fire in your belly, and the wisdom of your womb? The journey begins now. Move, breathe, feel—and remember, your body is your sanctuary. Trust it, love it, and let it guide you back to your wild.

If you’re craving deeper guidance on this journey, explore biofield tuning and Intuitive classes to awaken your inner power. These practices are a gateway to unlocking the magic that’s already within you.
