MVP Workshop

Are you ready to feel like a "boss"?

January's Workshop falls under the Astrological House Ten: Capricorn.

The energy of this House is all about

-Getting Sh*t Done, and

-Knowing Your Worth

I definitely hit a bit of a motivational slump in December and early January (I'll blame the Holidays), so I am ready to get things moving along again.

Last month in the House 9 Workshop we discussed EXPANSION and how to discover more of your Freedom and Wonder in Life.

Upon opening your mind (House 9), you are ready to make your mark on the World (House 10)

(If you are looking for more information on Astrology Houses, you can read more in this blog post to discover how they relate to you)

House Ten

Earth-- This house is very grounded in the material world, what you can accomplish

Planet-- Saturn: boundaries, limitations, lessons

Outer World-- This house encourages you to build legacy in the world, to make your mark

Characteristics-- MidHeaven, Achievements, Purpose, Motivation, Goals, Dedication, Status, Legacy, Life Time Achievements, Leadership,

House Ten is asking "What are you working towards, and leaving behind?"

THE WORKSHOP

This month we are going to set goals that align with our Higher Purposes

I want you to think beyond goal setting; add passion to the mix.

What do you get when you mix passion and drive?

Well I think you get Higher Purpose, and even Legacy if we are lucky

This Workshop, we will talk about VALUES and PURPOSE

Many of people do not feel passionate about their daily work.

Many people are even out of work right now.

Many of us constantly question "what is my purpose?"

All of this is normal and part of the process of further development!

List of Values

Use the list below to highlight or mark the values you feel are important to you.

Love - Health - Kindness - Justice - Courage - Security - Wealth - Adventure - Independence - Family - Honesty - Humor - Passion - Integrity - Simplicity - Environment - Intelligence - Creativity - Politics - Peace - Social Causes - Success - Animals - History - Education - Courage - Dependability - Learning - Growth - Curiosity - Travel - Community - Spirituality - Acceptance - Religion - Fun - Connection - Influence - Authenticity - Happiness - Optimism - Service - Compassion - Pleasure - Loyalty - Respect - Influence - Openness

What were your top five Values?

Was it a surprise at all?

A Cautionary Tale

When I did this exercise many years ago I remember listing things out that I wanted: Money, Beauty, Power (this was before a lot of my own personal healing had started 🌚😂) and my therapist asked "Do those things really bring you joy and inspiration?". At first I was conviced those things did bring me joy, but the more I reflected on it, the more I realized I only wanted Money, Power, Looks, because I thought I would feeling BELONGING.

And it turns out, Belonging, at the time, was my most important Value to explore

I really encourage you to discover your True Core Values.

What brings your Joy?

What Inspires you?

What do you want to share with others?

What do you want to build a legacy off of?

Here is a new meditation to help you with identifying your Highest Good.

Ok, so now you know not only what you want, but also what is in your Highest Interest as an individual.

The next step is ACTION.

I want to first be clear that in no way shape or form am I advocating for you to quit your stable job and do what your Heart calls for.

But there are ways to build our "Empire" is over time.

If you have the time and resources to jump full speed ahead after what you want, do it!

If you prefer to step into a pool rather than jumping straight in, then go slower.

Failure?

Either way, there are Lessons waiting for you.

"Failure" is waiting

Roadblocks" are waiting

Whatever you want to call it, I think understanding that life will be full of ups and down is key here.

Embrace the Stumbles and Life will Bless you

I always am sure to tell clients and friends how many times is have "failed".

Honestly those time that I have made big mistakes, or small mistake, have proved INVALUABLE.

So don't be afraid.

TAKING ACTION

Now you know a bit about what you value; what you're passionate about.

Now you can plant the seeds of your Legacy .

We are going to review a psychological and counseling tool called "SMART criteria" to help you create some goals that you can easily achieve.

When you achieve goals, (even the tiniest goals like making your bed in the morning for a week straight) THAT is how you build self-esteem.

S - specific

M - measureable

A - attainable

R - realistic

T - time based

Pick your strongest value that you identified and let's set three separate SMART goals for it.

*Read below the worksheet for my examples

SHORT TERM: 1 Week

my example

VALUE: Kindness

SHORT TERM: 1 Week

S- I want to be more kind and considerate of the people in my household. I want to think more of their needs and how I affect them in the house

M- Clean the upstairs floors once this week, bring flowers to decorate common space, cook dinner twice this week for everyone

A- I have the skills and resources to do these things, and do not need to look for outside help to do so; therefore yes this goal is attainable

R- This is relevant to my overall value of "kindness" because I want to start with the people closest to me, practicing thinking of myself less and evaluating their needs and comfort more.

T- one week from today, 7 days to complete these things

*Goal related affirmation: I am a kind person with a lot to give to those around me

Here is a meditation to help you feel your power and potential.

You're the Real MVP

When setting goals for yourself, be kind, it's all about building your self-confidence and your self-esteem. Once you believe in yourself, your Purpose and your Legacy come very naturally to you (read more on believing in yourself here )

The 1oth House of Astrology wants you to see you Value, and go after it.

You may already be working towards it.

You may be scared to upset the regularity of your current life.

You may not feel like you have a Purpose or a Legacy to offer.

Wherever you are starting from is the perfect start to your journey.

Reread that sentence ^

If you're reaching for the stars, some us of have to start from the dirt below our feet.

And that is perfect.

Where ever you are starting from is the exact point of starting the journey in the first place!

Some Inspiration

Im big on feeling inspired, so here is a list of people who "failed" many times before fulfilling their dreams. You don't have to idolize these people, but what they achieved when they were told "no" or facing great hardship, is quite amazing.

Steven Spielberg: rejected twice from USC and from UCLA before going on to earn accommodations and billions of dollars for his creative genius.

JK Rowling: She was down on her luck in life and finances, living on government help, when she wrote the First Harry Potter book, even after writing it, her iconic novel was rejected 12 times!

Oprah: Born into struggles, and faced with many of her own (such a young pregnancy and infant death) she was determined to make it in journalism. She was fired from her first job as an anchor when she was told she was unfit for television. Now she is an international name.

Albert Einstein: Reportedly didn't speak until he was four years of age. His father considered him an embarrassment, he failed much of his schooling, and now we know him as one of the greatest thinkers of recent times.

Henry Ford: His first two companies tanked, leaving him with nothing. But his can-do spirit brought him the all successful "Ford Motors"

All of these people ended up successful because they believed in themselves despite all their trials.

That the goal of this Workshop.

You have a Legacy

Once you have identified what it is you have to offer and what you value, I implore you to keep at it, every day.

You are essentially building the energy around you for success.

Take small steps everyday

Convince yourself of your Value and your Gifts

Be so convinced that no set backs deter you from what you want.

Be Well,

Love,

MaryLisa.
